CHABLABLA
- Anne Kamas: Hello Céline, I've heard lots of good things about you. But where did this sassy idea come from, of personalized pet-sitting?
- Céline Lorac: A little while ago, when I was a florist and the summer season was calm as usual, I started turning towards quite another audience than flora : fauna... the feline kind (which I am particularly fond of!).
When I met the CGC (Cats General Confederation) and heard their demands, I understood that their desire to stay on their own territory despite their master's absence needed to be heard! So, my taste for service and attention to detail led me to create ChaPacha, aiming to propose a complete service that treats both the cat and his master like Pachas, visiting the one while taking care of the shared living space of both!
In fact, it was the service I dreamed of myself when travelling regularly, while flat-mate to two energetic felines with inde-cat-table lifestyles.
- A.K.: Apparently you understand cat-speak? Is that really true?
- C.L.: Absolutely! Last year I received a very prestigious degree from the University of Cat-mandu to acknowledge my level of understanding. Since that day, I feel like the cat's whiskers.
- A.K.: But they say that you talk to plants also?
- C.L.: I think that must come from my background as a florist, but fortunately mastering perfect plant-speak is not indispensable when creating bouquets.
- A.K.: Would you be prepared to turn the radio on, or play The BeeGee's Greatest Hits to counter an animal's blues between two visits, if need be?
- C.L.: The choice of background music is at the cat's discretion, so of course, yes! But, as I'm bound to professional secrecy, I cannot reveal here the extremely eclectic tastes of my pachas.
- A.K.: You're not afraid of hamsters, or mice, or weasels?
- C.L.: I visit all small pets, as long as they stay on their master's territory. But I must confess a certain reticence towards black widow spiders...
- A.K.: And for plants, you accept all kinds? Leaves, thorns, prickles, etc.?
- C.L.: Even those with fur... and they exist, really!
Interview with Céline Lorac (creator of ChaPacha)
As told to Anne Kamas (without her crows)
Thank you Céline. That's fan-cat-tastic work! With your purr-mission, I'll be off for now.
Take care!
